Tips for Overseas Wedding Photoshoot (Taiwan, Taipei) (Always Updating) Updated 3.Nov.15

Hello Readers,

This is a post / FAQ / sharing session on Lishe Wedding Photography.

Visit this url to find out about my Taiwan Wedding Photography Experience.

This is a conversation between me (gerlyn) , wenxi and gerzworld’s Readers De Jun & his wife to be, Wei Ting.

I am sharing this with their permission and the reason I am sharing is because they asked really good questions!

The tips we shared below are useful if you are opting for Overseas Wedding Photoshoot. Personally, I recommend Lishe (Taiwan) for their great service standard. You can quote my name to them when booking hopefully you can get a discount. Quote : “Qiu Hui & Wenxi” Usually they will give offers or freebies if introduce by a friend!

I saw your blog on the wedding photography by Li She.

Do you have any tips or things to watch out for before and after the photoshoot?

Are there any hidden costs involved?

My WTB and I have signed a photoshoot package with them in Feb 2012 and we are going this March.

How long do they take to deliver the photo album? We are having our wedding dinner in June and we are afraid of not receiving the album in time.

Thanks!

De Jun

Hi De Jun,Here is my answer to your queries:
Do you have any tips or things to watch out for before and after the photoshoot?

From our experiences, we went to Lishe with nothing in our hand and mind. But do remember to:

1. Communicate with the photographer. Let him know about your preferences, places, transports, makeup artist following, ideas, budget, props (balloons?), animals (such as horse*).
* need additional charges

2. Choose your gowns wisely, make sure it is comfortable.

3. Bring some additional clothings which you will like for photoshoot.
Guys: white shirt, blazer? additional casual wears, black shoes, white socks & black socks,
Girls: accessories, jewellery, casual wears, wedding shoes, etc, nu-bra,

4. For the bride, you may consider to do your manicure? :P

5. Be prepare to get wet if you wish the photoshoot to involve water (such as sea side).

6. Relax and enjoy yourself.

7. Make up removal kit.

Are there any hidden costs involved?

1. Transportation – Mini Van / bus rental
2. Ampoules
3. Makeup artist follow throughout the journey
4. Horse riding rental
5. Groom suits (2-3sets) are standard… unless you want something better, then need to top-up.
6. Attraction fee to some photography sites. You may choose to go places that are FOC.
7. Additional photos outside the package, be it soft copy or hard copy. This should not be a hidden costs :)

How long do they take to deliver the photo album?

Normally is around 1 to 2 months time.

Some personal feedback and recommendation:
We went to Lishe for our photoshooting last year in mid August.
We have King as our photographer, Joyce as our make-up artist, and Chen Chia Wen as our coordinator / consultant.
They are really nice people. King and Joyce are skillful in their jobs / roles, which you may wish to consider.P/s: I think your questions are quite good, can I share with my readers on my blog?

Hopefully my input is of your help! Enjoy the trip~

Hi De Jun,

Forgot to mention again,

there will be courier charges when sending the photo album from Taiwan back to Singapore.

Depend on the size and weight, it may cost around SGD 80 to 160 or more.

Anyway, don’t worry too much! Just enjoy the photoshooting process.

Have a good Lunar New Year ahead!!

Hi Gerlyn,

Thank you for sharing your wedding photo in your blog. I was incidentally come across to your blogs and knew that u was having your shoot in Taiwan @ Lishe.
In fact i also bought the package but i have yet to go. I heard a lot comments from my friends said that when we bought the package is cheap in Singapore however after we arrive Taiwan and have a discussion with them before the shooting end up they is a lot of hidden and additional costs need to add in. So just need to check with you since u was been there before, how is Lishe, and are they pushy and hard sell to the clients or not?
How about is your total package spent for the shooting in Lishe and what is the additional cost we need to pay for it?
Kindly advise and share you opinion with me. Appreciate if can get some info from you.

Thanks & Best Regards,

May

HI Gerlyn,

1. Ampoules, compulsory to have it and how much it cost?

Hi May,
I will answer to the best of my knowledge ok?

1. Ampoules, compulsory to have it and how much it cost?

Ampoules are best to have because it can last make up. It will cost $20 sgd payable in taiwan to MUA (make up artist) . Usually use about 2-3 for bride and 1 for groom. Taiwan is very hot in august / sep so ampoule is a must.

2. Makeup artist follow throughout the journey, how much is it cost and is it necessary to have?

Mua follow thru-out is not necessary depends on yourself actually. If u are tight on budget u can forgo it. The purpose of them going out is to change hairstyle and change gown for u. If u are ok with same style thru-out and ur hubby to help u with gown then its ok. Cost wise i really cant remember you can email lishe :)

3. Is their soft copy chargeable or give it to us FOC?

Soft copy is chargeable per piece in SGD. :) i took additional 60photos in soft and 20photos hardcopy as per package.

Anyway, I hope to seek ur permission to share this on my blog too :)

Per bottle cost about $20 sgd. Prepare some sgd becos they charge additional photos using sgd too.

May i know what is you original package? How many photos in your package? coz you really took quite a lot for the additional photos :))

My package only got 20photos in the album. I only took soft copy. Soft copy cost will depend on bargaining skills and cost of original package and how many photos u took. I top up 60photos so i got 80 photos in total. I find my top up quite normal because their photos are pretty.

If the staff is not pushy and hard sell that will be good because i don’t like those very pushy. hehe

Lishe is not very pushy to be honest.

Of coz you can share these in your blogs.

Thanks ^^

Hi Gerlyn!

I’m just wondering if 麗舍時尚婚紗 is good?
I saw some negative comments about it and I’m kinda worried. I was looking at their package yesterday as they’re at Bugis Junction.
I wanted to sign the package but upon seeing some of the negative comment makes me worry.
Anyway, I tried to go to your blog to read about them but the page ain’t loading, not sure what happen.
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Chloe,

Thanks for your email. Personally I feel that Lishe is quite good based on my experience with them. I topped up for about a 100 photos with them.
My blog is currently having some technical issue which we are still trying to resolve. You can email me your concerns in details so we can reply you.
Commonly concerns I have regarding Lishe is that they do not have a branch over here so is it safe?
Will update you again once the blog is up and running!
Thanks!

Gerlyn & Casper
 Hi Gerlyn,

Thank for the reply!
Yes, that’s is one of the concern.
As I’ve already paid the deposit, so I only worry that it might run away or service not good. Are their photo nice? Is there any album of yours that I can check it out?
Thank you & Best Regards,
Chloe

Hi Chloe,

For that point, you do not need to worry as Lishe is very reputable in Taipei. In fact many of our Taiwanese Idol Drama took their pre-wedding and also used Lishe gown too such as 22k Dream High (Taiwan Drama) and a few other drama which I forgotten. They often tie up with San Li TV station too.
Their service and photos are very good. Usually Taiwan photographer got very high standards one. This point you do not need to worry. What you need to worry is your budget for photos top up.
As for album and photos, I am so sorry. It’s all in the blog. I will update you once the website is live.
Just do note that there are some surcharge for every bridal in taiwan, such as transportation, ampoules, fake eyelash, bringing make up artist out. So you need to prepare additional SGD on hand.
Hope it helps you in your wedding planning!

Best Regards,
Gerlyn & Casper
Hi Gerlyn!

Thank you for the reply!

Now I can put down my heart after hearing that it is very reputable in Taiwan! I didn’t know that.

By the way, can advice roughly how much do I need to bring for additional surcharge? Because it’s our first time and not sure about all the cost.
Sure, please let me know when the website is up!
Thank you & Best Regards,
Chloe

Hi Chloe,

The hidden cost will come up to about $800 – $1000 the items are:
1. Transportation – Mini Van / bus rental – about SGD 150 to 200 whole day I think.
2. Ampoules – each bottle around SGD 20+ I think. Usually need around 3 to 4 bottles

3. Makeup artist follow throughout the journey – about SGD 200-300+

4. Horse riding rental – about SGD 80 for 1 hr.

5. Groom suits (2-3sets) are standard… unless you want something better, then need to top-up.

6. Attraction fee to some photography sites. You may choose to go places that are FOC.

7. Additional photos outside the package, be it soft copy or hard copy. This should not be a hidden costs :)
8. Courier  charges for album to ship to Singapore. It will depends on the weight and size of your album.

Is quite standard for all taiwan bridals to have hidden cost like this. So not to worry. You can choose to save on things like horse riding, attraction fee and additional photos. For MUA (make up artist) i will not recommend to save on this unless you are very good with make ups and able to change your own hairdos. Just to let you know, for Lishe Makeup artist, they also make up for the hubby too!

Hope my answer helps you!
