Hello Readers,

Today gonna share with you Bioré latest sunblock, the Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel.

Did you know? Prolonged exposure to the sun’s UV rays without proper protection can cause permanent effects such as premature skin ageing, wrinkles & freckles, as well as, various skin damages like discolouration, sallowness, dryness. In extreme cases, they can also lead to skin cancer.

Prep yourself for sunny days ahead with the new Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery series!

  • Superior double UV block with SPF50+/PA++++
  • Maximum protection against harmful UVA and UVB rays from the sun
  • Retains the much-loved light and watery texture

A 2014 Benchmark Survey commissioned by Kao Singapore revealed a surprising find – that only 30% of women between the age of 12 and 49 years old use a sunscreen daily. What is even more startling is that this number has remained unchanged for the past five years even with the introduction of more sun care products over the past few years. Based on this worrying trend, it is apparent that women in Singapore do not consider protection against UV damage a priority.

Results from Kao Singapore’s Benchmark Survey also shows that the top reason why women prefer not to apply a sunscreen is the sticky, greasy feeling on skin that most sunscreens tend to leave behind.

The most damaging UV rays can be classified into different wavelengths, known as UVA and UVB. UVA rays penetrate into the deeper layers of our skin as compared to UVB rays, and are also the dominant tanning ray. The penetrative ability of UVA rays through glass means that even when you’re seeking shelter indoors, your skin continues to be exposed to its harmful effects which can cause cumulative damage such as wrinkling and skin ageing. On the other hand, UVB rays cause the most damage to the outer layer of skin such as reddening of skin and sunburns. Without proper protection, prolonged exposure to UVB rays can cause long-term damage to skin’s epidermal layers.

You think the best way to stay protected during picnic is to stay in tentage? No lo… You need to apply sunblock to stay protected!!

You can see the sunblock is gel watery and not very watery kind which will drip all over the place. 2

Time for application! The Aqua Rich Watery Gel contains the breakthrough Aqua Micro Capsule a water capsule which breaks upon application on skin to release the UV protection agent while giving skin a cool and refreshed feeling.

It spreads quite easily but still require some effort.

Sunscreen products are rated based on two rating systems, known as the Skin Protection Factor (SPF) and the PA rating system. The SPF rating determines the duration of time your skin stays protected against UVB rays from the sun. The calculation method is simple – SPF Rating x (no. of minutes for skin to darken under sun) = No. of minutes skin is protected from UVB rays

Example

SPF50 x 20mins = 1000mins of protection from UVB (equivalent to 16 hours of protection)

A sunscreen with the rating of SPF50 is sufficient coverage, as it blocks up to 98 percent of UVB rays from penetrating into skin. Anything higher than a SPF50 rating compromises on the texture of the sunscreen, making it heavier and greasier when applied to skin.

On the other hand, the PA rating is a Japanese rating system that shows how much protection you are receiving against UVA rays. The higher the number of pluses, the greater the protection against UVA rays. Currently, the highest standard of PA protection in the industry is PA++++.

Unlike most sunscreens that have a higher SPF value which tends to compromise on the product texture, Bioré’s Aqua Rich Watery series retains its lightweight feel and at the same time provide maximum UV protection. The Aqua Rich Watery Gel is also infused with hyaluronic acid and citrus extract to keep skin hydrated and healthy.

Bioré’s enhanced UV Series is your perfect shield against skin woes that could be easily prevented, like sun spots, wrinkles and freckles caused by damaging ultraviolet (UV) rays.

my personal reviews

Personally i feel that it does not spread out that easily. There are areas I missed out. You can spot it near my right eyebrow area. There is this white white thing. Cheek oso got a little white residue. It’s not sticky or greasy hence you require more effort to “push” the sunblock even. It’s does not feel heavy to use it daily actually just that you gotta remember to apply evenly!  Feels very cooling when apply and smells fruity. I am someone who doesn’t always apply make up but I always put on sunblock even I have no make up. Last time I only apply sunblock to my face because according to that sunblock brand specification, they mention is for face only so i need to apply another brand of sunblock for body which is very MAFAN! Now that the Bioré Aqua Rich Watery Gel allows me to apply on body too means i am covered from Head to Toe! I mean Face to Body! I am so gonna bring it along for my aussie trip!
