北京之“蕙”眼识英雄 – 王秋蕙

“北京有什么好玩的？好期待哦！可是很担心北京没有游乐园不知道会不会好玩。”

4月18日，去北京的前一天，正在整理行李的我，就有了以上的想法。但是我的室友，杨慧就很是兴奋。我一直都很想出去旅游但是一直都没有机会。上次到中国是去年的9月份，因为去了福建-吴山做了义工所以有幸到厦门玩了1天1夜。我是个游乐园狂，虽然知道北京没有游乐设施但是既然学校定了，既来之则安之，还是硬着头皮去了！

非常感激我认识了杨慧。杨慧与我志同道合，都是有着冒险家精神，精力充沛的小女生。

What’s fun in Beijing? What to expect! But I am worried because Beijing has no theme park so i dunno whether it would be fun anot.

The day before we set of to beijing, while i was packing my luggage, I had the mindset above. But my roomie, Yang Hui was very excited. I always wanted to travel but i did not have the chance. The previous time i have been to china is September last year. Because i sign up for an YEP (expedition) to Wushan, Fujian to do volunteer work so I got the chance to go Xiamen City to play for 1day 1night. I am a theme park fanatic however beijing has no theme park but since is chosen by the sch… fine.. let nature takes it course.

 p/s: Today is Yanghui’s 24th birthday i wish her all the best and also we have been BFF since beijing for 1263days! 

What a nice day to commemorate! 

 

我“蕙”去圆明园！

我们一手拿着相机，一手拿着北京地图，就这样出发了！我和杨慧一起搭1.5小时地铁到圆明园站。我们很曲折的转了三次地铁，从青线到蓝线到红线。一路下来，花了40分钟才到达圆明园。这一路下来还搭错车向反方向行驶！

One hand holding on the my fujifilm camera, 1 hand holding on the the beijing map, we set off just liddat. We took an 1.5hrs mrt to reach yuan ming yuan aka old summer palace. We all sat the wrong line and changed different colours of mrt line and spent 40mins on the metro to arrive.

You can see that yuan ming yuan park is actually very off route.

到了地铁站，我和杨慧像是不能被抓住的野狗，活泼乱跳，拿着相机一直拍。地铁站的建筑很是特别。地铁站带出了圆明园的建筑特色，很美丽，很有感觉。在到圆明园之前，我的叔叔告诉我，圆明园只剩下三个大柱子，要去就去颐和园。但是我心想，虽然我不是中国的当地人，但是身为华人，我也应该看看我们被“糟蹋”的圆明园，不管怎样，圆明园是圆的还是圈的，我得应该看看。

When we arrived at the station, Yanghui and I was super excited kept running around and snap pictures. The metro station was specially designed to have some yuan ming yuan characteristic inside. It’s very nice and pretty with the unique architecture very artistic. Before i arrived, Uncle choo told me that yuan ming yuan only left with 3 big pillars. If i really wanna visit, i shuld go to Yi He Yuan (summer palace) instead. Coz got flowers mah.. But i was thinking, i am a chinese so i shuld go take a look at the yuan ming yuan that was being stampede before. No matter what, where yuan ming yuan, yuan anot i oso mus go see see look look.

到了圆明园，我和杨慧能选择买那一种票，一种是参观票，10元，另一种是25元的票，这张票能参观3个不同的景点。所以我和杨慧当然选择25元的那一张。我们一跨过门槛，就看到了清代格格，原来只需10元，你就能化身为环珠格格！当时我这个好“摄”之徒，没办法，就跟格格借位拍了一张合影留念。

So we purchase a the 25yuan tix which can visit 3 different sceneries. Once we arrived, we saw that you can cosplay into qing dynasty princess aka gege and just need 10yuan! The queue was pretty long back then so I jus took a bg pic with them can already.

步行30分钟，只看见桥，杨柳，和船。当时的我，想起了柳永的《雨霖铃》“多情自古伤离别，更那堪，冷落清秋节。今宵酒醒何处?杨柳岸，晓风残月。此去经年，应是良辰好景虚设。便纵有千种风情，待与何人说!”我这个多情种每次一到离别时，都会感到很失落。

about 30mins long wait, i see bridges, yangliu leaves (those danglings leaves) and boat. So i tot of a poem i learn before. I dunno how to really translate but usually is quite commonly use in emotional ppl like me, it’s saying “people who have alot of feelings for others will often experience departure since the olden days and will feel lonely.” So i always think of this during people’s departure and i will feel very down.

让我感觉特别有趣的是“老北京吹糖”。这位大叔能吹出不同的图形的糖，据我查探，他所吹的是麦芽糖。这位师傅已经有了40年的吹糖经验，12生肖对他来说简直是小意思。所以为了挑战这位师傅的手艺，我就叫他吹出了我的生肖，猴子。哪里知道，他只用了区区的20分钟，就把猴子给吹了出来。

What i felt very special is this Old Beijing blowing candy! Is malt candy. This uncle can actually blow different shapes and characters using malt candy. He has 40yrs of exp in this blowing industry! So 12 animal zodiac to him is chicken feet. But i still challenge him to blow a monkey for him. And he spent 20mins and it’s done. omg! i think i spend 20yrs oso cmi lo…

我知道其实圆明园的重点就是它的建筑和12生肖兽首。很庆幸，猴子的兽首已经被找回，而且归回中国。但是用高额的价钱来购买中国自己的物品是有点不合理。可是难道要让兽首继续漂流在他乡吗？所以不管多贵，只要找到几个兽首，我认为就应当买回来。

Actually u all know what yuan ming yuan used to have? it’s the bronze statue water fountain made up of 12 zodiac. Fortunately, Monkey statue has been found and returned to china. But it’s use high price to buy back one. #speechless But then bobian no matter how expensive oso mus buy back right?

虽然圆明园的建筑，塌的塌，毁的毁，似乎真的没有游览的意义。我的“蕙”眼不是那么觉得的。我认为圆明园必有自己的特别之处。虽然对他的建筑一知半解，但是拍了很多照片，而且迷迷糊糊的站在以前清朝皇帝所坐的台阶。从以下的照片，可以看出其实圆明园虽然塌了，但还是很美丽。

Although the architecture in yuan ming yuan are destroy or pichiak and people think there is nothing to explore. I think otherwise. I think it mus have it’s usp for sure! But i know nutz abt architecture but still jus take tons of photos and i even blur blur walk until the stage the Qing Dynasty emperor sat on to view performance. But from photos you can see actually yuan ming yuan is very beautiful!

我所站的位置是以前清代皇帝所建的一个台。这个台能看到圆明园喷泉的自然景色。当时我有感觉自己就像贵族，就像一个格格一样，能在自己的花园看着美丽的景色。

So this is the stage i mentioned. This stage can see the water fountain sceneric beauty. Got the atas feel #LikeAPrincess can sit at garden watch scenery!

316一起去北京798

798对我来说是一个很有艺术气息的地方。我和杨慧根本就是来拍艺术照的。我认为798的风格和新加坡的Haji Lane. Haji Lane是一个年轻人的天堂，在那里你能够与很有特色的建筑拍照。是我们90后的拍摄的好地方。

Next up we visited 798. It’s like SG haji lane. The place very chio everywhere take photoshoot oso very nice. Is a hipster heaven!

一个非常不起眼的路边大叔说道，“皮影10元。”当时我想也不想，就坐下来了。这位高人只花了区区的10分钟，就把我剪出来了。我的头发，神情，五官，全都剪得出神入化。当时我想，这个10元果然值得，物超所值。

Then got a uncle at the roadside wanna cut me! I mean paper cut me. He say 10yuan only.. So i jus have a game. And less than 10mins he cut me out sia.. Look alike hor? Damn cool damn worth it la!

一封写给未来的信。

A letter to the future. You can write a letter to the future you or the future him or future whatever. Aiya wasted i shuld write to xiao monkey! hahaha! But dunno when to mail out!

 

我认为798的特色就是“古灵精怪”。你可以看到上面的“坦克宝宝”，其实从未有人想过宝宝会张大了嘴，骑着坦克车，有一副凶神恶煞的表情。当时我和杨慧马上就找人帮我们合影。因为可爱的宝宝，我们见得多，但是那么特别的宝宝，我们还是头一回见到。

I like 798 because is very “crazy” and out of the norm. This is the tanker baby. Usually u see baby is guai guai sit there but the artist made this baby into a crazy baby like so fierce, riding on a tank. Immediately me and yanghui get someone to snap a photo for us! Because such a baby is not easy to find!

其实798也是一个购物天堂，可以看到左边有一排排的徽章。每一个徽章才10元，而且款式精致，非常有798独有的风格与特色，可说是价廉物美。所以，我一口气买了7个，打算送给我在新加坡的朋友。

Actually 798 is a shopping paradise! P/s I am shoppaholic! haha ! Anyway u can see there is alot of super cool badges at 10yuan each! And the designs are so unique and cool and swag! So 1 shot i bought 7 and apparently it’s already lost coz i moved house then dunno put where.

不乘船的颐和园风景“几”美一下

在新加坡和马来西亚都喜欢用数量词，“几”意思就指，非常、很、太。而一下只是个语气词。

 

这里是文昌阁。我不知道这里的文昌和新加坡的一不一样。在新加坡，文昌是能让我们增加知识，和增加智慧的一个神，是能让我们膜拜的。

This is Wen Chang Ge. I dunno if SG wen chang and China wen chang issit the same anot. In SG wen chang is a immortal whom we can pay respect to to gain knowledge.

学过书法的我，当时看到这位高人时，顿时目瞪口呆了。可能是大惊小怪吧，看到有人在地上练字，看到一位有一定年纪的大叔用了一个很粗，很大的毛笔，和水，就一直写，一直写，一直写。

I learn calligraphy when i was primary 4 so when i see this calligraphy on the floor i was stunned like vegetable! He is an old man but he used a super long brush and jus water to write very nice characters on the floor. Impressive~

这里是颐和园长廊。这里有728米长，一共14，000个画。有白蛇传，西游记，红楼梦，三国演义，水浒传还有牛郎织女等故事。当时有一个陌生的导游给他的美国团做了讲解，当然我就用了我的顺风耳来“偷听”。风趣的导游先是介绍了西游记，然后是白蛇传，但是忽然问了老外，“这两个美女猜猜是谁？”忽然鸦雀无声，导游回复，“我也不知道。”顿时间我跟杨慧就对看，然后一起偷笑。

This is Summer Palace Long Corridoor and is super long. 728meters long and on the pillars have about 14 thousands of drawings! Got White Snake legend, Journey to the west aka sun wu kong, Red Chamber Dreams, and 3 kingdoms etc etc. And at that point of time, got 1 tour guide was doing some tour with his America Tourist and then i purposely go overheard la.. Then suddenly the angmoh ask who is this 2 pretty ladies.. Oops.. Then me and yanghui am-chio and fast zao liao..

苦苦哀求了武汉的导游，大施君10分钟，他终于让我们买门票进“佛香阁”。爬了20分钟的阶梯，气喘嘘嘘的我没有忘了照相。果然是名副其实的“好摄之徒”。高高的阶梯，加上灼热的太阳，虽然很累但是为了爬到顶端，我还是坚持了。我一直都抱着一个心态，一分耕耘一分收获，只要我很努力的爬上去，我就不会有遗憾。只要我能到顶端，再辛苦也值得。

So we begged our Wuhan Tour guide Mr Shi for 10mins and finally he agree to let us enter Fo Xiang Ge! It’s a paid attractions la so of course pay ourselves la.. We climbed 20mins of stairs sibeh tiring but i never forget to hip-xiong! Of course la, i am Ms Selfie leh! So the sun was hot but windy and very tiring to climb the long stairs but i told myself i mus reach the top so i have no regrets coz i can take more chio pictures! hahaha!

这次的北京之旅让我这个小妹妹受益良多。从这次的作业中，我学到不少东西。在我做这份作业之前，我不曾对于周边的人事物多加留意。但是在这次的作业和北京之旅，我领悟到我应该带着好奇的眼光看待身边的大小事。往后，我会珍惜每次旅行的机会，让我可以增广见闻，毕竟“读万卷书不如行万里路”。

Thru this beijing getaway, i learned alot and become more independent.. From this homework aka travelogue, i learn many thing oso. Before i do this homework, i never really pay attentions to the little details in life. But after this homework and beijing trip, i understand that i should have a curious mindset and seek to learn mindset in the future!

In future i will oso cherish every opportunity to travel so as to allow me to widen my horizon and of course there is a chinese saying, “Study 10000000 books rather walk for 10000000miles!”

But i wont walk a 100000miles la.. I will take AEROPLANE mah! #ThinkIdumbdumbAh?

伍老师的评语：秋蕙，你的游记语言活泼生动，很不错，但是我认为照片太多了，割裂了文字的流畅性，重点也不够突出，如能修改一下会更好。你给我的感觉是一个可爱聪明的女生!

This is a travelogue i written during my 6mths china immersion. Tat point of time i not blogger so actually tis is an assignment for our Compo class and i jus grabbed from my old assignment i post it here.

Ms Wu comments: Qiu Hui (Chinese Name) your travelogue is very lively and interactive and this is not bad however i think picture too many liao. It actually hinders the contents / essay flow. The main objective is oso not obvious if you can edit a bit, it would be even better. You gave me a feel that you are a cute and smart girl.

p/s : Cher, u say i cute and smart but not pretty lah… Coz usually pretty will say pretty de.. You only use other descriptive words to say ppl not pretty.

i.e 长得很有特色！ 人品很好！

But is ok, better than nth la! hehe!
